Etihad Air introduced its flagship Boeing 787 Dreamliner to the Abu Dhabi - Geneva route on March 25, 2018. Etihad Airways offers flights from Abu-Dhabi to other cities in Europe with Geneva the second after Zurich.
Etihad Airways Chief Executive Officer, Peter Baumgartner, said, "We are delighted that Switzerland, one of our most attractive markets for both business and leisure travelers, will now be exclusively served by our flagship Boeing 787 Dreamliner."
"In addition to maintaining attractive timings for guests traveling between Abu Dhabi and Geneva, we will create further suitable connections in many markets that will benefit more travelers to conveniently connect to Geneva via our Abu Dhabi hub," Baumgartner added.
The three-class aircraft features 28 Business studios, 199 Economy Smart Seats, and eight First Suite. It will be replacing the Airbus A330s, which currently cover the route daily, and will offer extra cargo capacity.
"Through our optimized schedule, more business and leisure guests from an increasing number of destinations will now have the opportunity to experience our next generation aircraft throughout their journey with us."
The operation of the Boeing 787 brings some ecological and financial advantages. For example, compared to the Airbus, there is a 12% reduction in fuel consumption, as well as a significant reduction in the amount of carbon monoxide emissions.
Etihad Airways has a morning flight to Geneva and also a mid-morning return service that improves the connectivity to a wider set of destinations across Asia and Australia.
As far as luxury and comfort go, this Boeing is ultra-comfortable and provides entertainment and inflight connectivity information.
